Marriage proposals have become an art form, but now they've crossed over the danger line that our Moms taught us about when we were young.
You've heard it before. "It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt." But come on, marriage proposals have to be big. Consider the guy who bought a billboard or the proposal via skywriting that failed .
So, it shouldn’t surprise us that one was made on a mountaintop. It’s just how he got there and what happened next that worried his Mom.
Thankfully though, the intrepid hero of our story didn't get hurt; he got rescued. By a helicopter while dangling from the face of a cliff 80 feet above the ocean.
Don't ask me to explain this one; I just report 'em.
The Missoluian reports that 27-year old Michael Banks climbed Morro Rock in Morro Bay, California to propose to his girlfriend, who watched on FaceTime while he climbed the 600-foot rock. On the way back down, however, Banks chose a steeper route that left him trapped. A Morro Bay Fire Department helicopter plucked him as the downwash from the blades battered both the rescuer and the rescuee.
Banks is home safe.
