Lady Jacks Win Last Game of the Soccer Season
Here in Northern California to watch the Lady Jacks win their last game of the soccer season for Humboldt State University. The women won 2-1 on a soaked field, puddled deep by the end of the game. Your erstwhile reporter from Southern California braved 53-degree, wind-driven rain (a sharp contrast from the balmy weather where he lives) to bring you this report. Brrrr!
Both shots that won the game were skillfully played over the keeper's head, and a senior in her last year scored the last goal in the last few minutes of the game. Of course the team was likewise skillfully guided by Assistant Coach Julie Jo Ayer Williams to an overall better-than-average-season of 12-5-3.
