Quote of the Day - My cancer scare changed my life. I'm grateful for every new, healthy day I have. It has helped me prioritize my life.
Sheyanne's BlogThe Breast Cancer JournalMy dear friend and fellow lawyer Sheyanne has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She's 31 - a year younger than my daughter. Think about that for a minute. 31 years old and you hear the words, "breast cancer" and "sorry" come out of your doctor's mouth. Not just the kind that is in your breast, but now has also spread to your lymph nodes. Our firm is rallying around her, keeping in touch with her as she goes through this process and sending her care packages once a week. But it's not enough. She's going to have to reach deep down inside her character and pull up some fortitude to get through this process. She's got a great head on her shoulders and one of the most confident lawyers I know. She will be able to do this. Over the last year, my fiance has lost 12 friends to cancer. Twelve. That's a startling number for one person to deal with. But if you're Sheyanne, you're dealing with it every moment of your life. What do you do? As part of her process to deal with her breast cancer, she's started a blog she calls Sheyanne's Blog. Journaling helps understand what your're dealing with and what you've gone through. If you've been touched by someone with breast cancer or just want to support someone who is, give her blog a look. She'll appreciate your support. |
